Rubber Bridge
Mentos, Fruitella, Happydent, Vigorsol, Goliath, Chupa Chups, Vivident, Big Babol, Alpenliebe and, above all, Brooklyn.
All of us have bought these products strategically placed near the speakers of the bar, tobacco shop or supermarket. Why
candies and gums are purchased on impulse are not noted on the shopping list.
All these brands belong to one of the great Italian multinationals, certainly not placed some of the best known: Perfetti Van Melle (even third group in the world ranking of "confectionery, candies and gums).
The reason: the 'family business is not publicly traded (and does not seem willing to do so), as (one of the founding family and current holder of the majority) sacrificed to that of those brands. Well known.
The success story of this Italian multinational sees the light as it sweetens Lombardo Lainate, with a product, "the rubber of bridge, which seemed more American than Lombard. And that some time ago has been "in the wolf's den" with a product called Mentos gum, a cross between the history of Mentos candy (Van Melle) and a heart made of rubber (Perfetti). So a product that seemed to be "American" to conquer America.
For us, only a success story of a family company projected towards the acquisition of international brands, with the ability, demonstrated in the past, when it acquired Caremoli (the mark Goliath, mainly) in 986, the competitor Dutch Van Melle in 2001 and finally, in 2006, Spain's Chupa Chups, synonymous with "lollypop" (candy) all over the world, the ability to make decisions quickly, with rapid internal processes and careful to "brand".
A "soft" history of excellent Italian industry.
I can only hope that in twenty years the Chinese will not sell us the Parmesan.
